Historically, increasing the performance of our air-cooled boxer engines through the installation of dual carburetors has been a proven method to further enhance driving pleasure. No other component, while maintaining the classic appearance, is able to more strongly emphasize the kinship between Wolfsburg commercial vehicles and the Zuffenhausen sports car manufacturer Porsche.
For the conversion to dual carburetors to be successful, not only high-quality material is necessary, but also the corresponding knowledge about these complex components. To avoid risking engine damage during the performance increase, the selection of the jets and the individual tuning to the own engine are of great importance.
To address this issue, after countless tests and trials with all dual carburetors available on the market, we have developed a package that allows you, even without prior knowledge, to quickly and easily convert your engine to dual carburetors and tune it perfectly. And by perfectly, we truly mean perfectly.
For our carburetor, we use the currently best available cast blank on the market. This is always individually inspected and assembled with carefully selected and tested components. The pre-assembled jets are already so suitable for your engine that you can put it into operation directly after installing our carburetors without any worries. We configure not only calibrated main, idle, and air correction jets, but also matching emulsion tubes and individual transition drillings for your engine. The fixed air correction jet for the idle system is also appropriately selected.
For the venturis we use, we exclusively employ self-developed CNC components in precisely calibrated sizes. The float levels of your new carburetors are adjusted during assembly and are therefore already set when the parts arrive at your door. For the fuel connection, you have the choice between the common 7.5 mm connections or the 5.5 mm connection that matches the original fuel pump.
To truly unleash the full potential of your new carburetors and adapt them to the highly individual parameters of your engine, such as the degree of porting, compression, installed exhaust system, or even the connecting rod ratio, you will receive the CARBUREADER measuring device for rent with the purchase of this package. Also included in the package is a step-by-step guide that guarantees to lead you to the perfect tuning of your new carburetors to your engine, even without prior knowledge. Original Fritz Fahrkraft IDF 40 carburetors, pre-set for your engine and ready for immediate use.
This carburetor surpasses the quality of all currently available dual carburetors of the proven IDF design on the market. The best cast blank available on the market is finished and assembled by us in Germany. The carburetor has the following technical specifications:
- Feinster Druckguss, CNC Bearbeitet

To quickly and easily adapt your new carburetors optimally to your engine, we provide you with our CARBUREADER, a specially developed measuring device. Also included is a jet assortment that you can use for fine-tuning. During this phase, you have exclusive access to our experts via live calls. Our experts will help you with the fine-tuning, so that in the end you can proudly call a set of dual carburetors adapted to your engine and driving style your own.
This package includes the following services:
- Provision of the required CARBUREADER measuring device for two weekends, an extension for a fee is possible at any time - Available from May 2025 -
- Provision of the associated software

Wir bieten dir wahlweise einen Kraftstoffanschluss passend für Schläuche mit 7.5 mm oder 5.5 mm Innendurchmesser.
Bis 90 PS Leistung ist ein Innendurchmesser von 5.5 mm ausreichend. Die mechanische Benzinpumpe im guten Zustand kann weiter verwendet werden. Der große Vorteil ist, dass keine Umrüstung des Leitungssystems vom Tank bis zu den Vergasern vorgenommen, oder auf irgendwelche Adapter zurückgegriffen werden muss.
Ab 90 PS Leistung kann es sein, dass der Systemdruck nicht mehr ausreicht und auf eine Kraftstoffleitung mit 7.5 mm Innendurchmesser umgerüstet werden muss. Hier sollte dann das komplette Leitungssystem vom Tank bis zu den Vergasern entsprechend umgebaut werden. Auch muss auf eine elektrische Benzinpumpe inklusive Sicherheitsrelais umgerüstet werden.
- Deine neuen Vergaser werden umgehend mit einer zu deinen Angaben passenden Grundbedüsung versehen und gehen auf den Versandweg zu dir.
- Im nächsten Schritt kannst du die Vergaser direkt montieren und in Betrieb nehmen.
- Nach erfolgreicher Inbetriebnahme buchst du dann, für einen Zeitpunkt deiner Wahl, unser CARBUREADER Mess- System. - Verfügbar ab Mai 2025 -
- Bei der Buchung des Messgerätes wird eine Kaution i.H.v. EUR 500,00 fällig.
- Im Preis enthalten sind die Mietkosten für zwei Wochenenden. D.h. das Messgerät kommt passend zum Wochenende bei dir an und du hast dann die nachfolgenden 9 Tage, Zeit damit zu arbeiten.
- Am Montag nach dem zweiten Wochenende schickst du das Messgerät an uns zurück, sodass wir es nach Kontrolle dem nächsten Kunden passend zum Wochenende bereitstellen können.
- In der Regel reicht diese Zeit problemlos aus, um die perfekte Abstimmung herauszufahren.
- Ebenfalls im Paketpreis enthalten ist unser Abstimmset im Tausch. Bestehend aus den angrenzenden Düsengrößen erhältst du eine zu deinem Vorhaben passende Auswahl an Düsen, sodass du während der Arbeit mit unserem Messgerät einfach durchtauschen kannst.
- Alle nicht benötigten Düsen aus dem Abstimmset, inkl. der ursprünglich in den Vergasern verbauten, schickst du gemeinsam mit dem Messgerät an uns zurück. Du behältst nur den perfekt passenden Satz.
- Solltest du das Messgerät dennoch länger benötigen, kann deine Mietdauer wochenweise gegen eine Gebühr verlängert werden. Der Rücksendetag bleibt dabei der Montag, dieser schiebt sich dann entsprechend deiner Verlängerung wochenweise nach hinten.
- Während der gesamten Mietdauer hast du freien Zugang zu unseren regelmäßig stattfindenden Livecalls. Dort findest du Hilfe bei allen offenen Fragen zum Thema Abstimmung oder Arbeit mit dem Messgerät.
- Nach erfolgreicher Abstimmung und dem Rückversand von Messgerät und Abstimmset, erhältst du deine Kaution von uns zurück.
Fuel Connection 6mm.
The right diameter.
This fuel inlet fitting for IDF carburetors is made from 100% brass and replaces the standard 8mm fuel inlet.
The fuel inlet is designed for engines up to 90hp. The mechanical fuel pump, if in good condition, can continue to be used. The major advantage is that there is no need to modify the line system from the tank to the carburetors, or to resort to any adapters. This reduces the risk of leaks, as every connection point can become a potential leak.
When ordering our carburetors, there is an option to choose between the standard connection and this Fritz Fahrkraft development.
The brass turned parts have an overall length of 37 mm. The shaft has a diameter of 6 mm.
